What inspired you to become a photographer?

For Bhaavya Roy, the journey into photography wasn’t planned — it was something she felt her way into, slowly and instinctively.
“I think photography chose me before I consciously chose it,” Bhaavya says with a soft smile. “I’ve always been fascinated by human expressions, by the way light changes the mood of a scene, by how one single frame can tell an entire story.”
As a teenager, Bhaavya often found herself capturing moments on her phone or borrowing her father’s old DSLR. What started as a quiet curiosity slowly became a calling.
“I was deeply inspired by cinema and fashion editorials — the drama, the styling, the mood. But more than that, I was drawn to people. I loved observing them, catching that unguarded second when they’re most real. That’s when I knew I wanted to turn this passion into a profession.”
She credits her inspiration to a mix of visual storytelling, emotional honesty, and the desire to preserve fleeting moments.
